MOSUL, IRAQ -- Gunmen kidnapped a Chaldean Catholic archbishop and killed three of his guards Friday in the latest attack targeting Iraq's dwindling Christian minority in this northern city.

The armed group intercepted Archbishop Paulos Faraj Rahho as he left the Church of the Holy Spirit after celebrating Mass, said Iraqi Brig. Gen. Khalid Abdul Sattar, a spokesman for Nineveh province security forces.

ああ？英語なんて読めないんでわからんのですが、なんかモスルとかいうとこで司教の三人の護衛が殺されたじょとか、色々。誘拐も起きてるみたいっす。記事の最後の方には、とにかく弾圧がすごくて、改宗迫られたり、色々な圧力かけられたり、みんな国外に逃げてるらしいみたいな事が書いてある。
まぁ、イスラムな国々は温厚そうなマレーシアでもカトリックをはじめとしたキリスト教の人々を真綿で首を絞めるようなやり方で弾圧しているというのは聞きますし、危険な国なんかではよく殺されてるし、ま、これも植民地時代の所業を振り返れば、因果応報ですな・・・

・・・じゃなくて、現代でこげな事が起きているというのは人類は進歩できんのだなと思ってしまうが、とにかく心配事ではある。
